Speaker invites Maneka for women’s meet

New Delhi: Speaker of the Assembly Dr K Sivaprasada Rao, here on Tuesday invited Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Maneka Gandhi, to the three-day Women Parliamentarians\' Seminar at Amaravati.
New Delhi: Speaker of the Assembly Dr K Sivaprasada Rao, here on Tuesday invited Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Maneka Gandhi, to the three-day Women Parliamentarians' Seminar at Amaravati.
The seminar is scheduled for February 11, 12 and 13 and is expected to be attended by women Parliamentarians from even abroad.
The State government was viewing it as a prestigious event and had planned to permit 10,000 girl students from AP to attend the same and know all about women empowerment.
However, Maneka told him that due to UP elections, it would not be possible for her to attend the seminar but wished the government all the best, a statement said.
