Nellore: Ongoing feud between YSRCP MLA and the party’s district convener Kakani Govardhan Reddy and TDP MLC Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has taken a twist with arrest of three persons who confessed to the police that they had supplied forged documents to the YSRCP leader who had levelled allegations against Somireddy.
It may be recalled that Kakani alleged that senior TDP leader Somireddy had amassed properties worth Rs 1,000 cr in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong personally and on the names of his family members.
Somireddy displayed the documents before the mediapersons and demanded a probe by the CBI and other investigating agencies.
Subsequently, the senior TDP leader lodged a complaint with rural police requesting them to ascertain the facts as he had doubts on the authenticity of the documents. He said he was ready for any action if the allegations were proved.
He also approached the DGP and requested him to proceed with the investigation on genuineness of the documents.
Police booked cases under 120 (b), 468, 469, 471, 506 of IPC and Sections 65, 71 of IT Act in rural police station.
District police deployed three teams with police officials and started investigation. The police arrested one person from Chittoor district and two others from Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu who assisted in preparing the fake documents.
SP Vishal Gunni, interacting with mediapersons on Wednesday, said that on Tuesday they arrested Pasupuleti Chiranjeevi alias Manimohan who hails from Adavi Koyambedu in Chittoor district, the key player in the case.
They also arrested T Venkata Krishnan and G Hariharan from Tiruvallur who prepared forged documents, stamps and other supporting material. Police arrested the duo in Tiruvallur.
The SP said the main accused Chiranjeevi earlier had worked in a casino in Genting Highlands in Malaysia and observed lavish living styles of people and has been dreaming to earn money even through illicit ways. He started searching on YouTube for political rivalries and their details.
Basing on the political disputes, he planned to approach people that they would supply secrets of other person with documents and collect money from them.
Chiranjeevi used to avail services of Venkata Krishnan and Hariharan for preparing the documents and typing work.
The SP said as part of the investigation they had sent letters to the bank branches in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong and other agencies for validation of the facts. He also said they would probe Chiranjeevi for more details.
He appreciated efforts put in by the teams within a span of 10 days. He announced rewards to Nellore Rural CI Durga Prasad, Krishnapatnam Port CI Srinivasa Rao and Sub-Inspector Viswanatha Reddy, Kavali Rural CI Ashokvardhan Reddy, IT wing SI Shafi, and other members who were part of the teams.
