Entrance for admission into Model Schools

Visakhapatnam: Entrance test for admission into Class VI in the designated five Model Schools in the district for the academic year 2017-18 will be held on March 5 (Sunday) from 9 am to 11 am, said district educational officer M V Krishna Reddy here on Wednesday.

He said that interested candidates can apply online and the entrance test will be in both Telugu and English media in objective type with V Class standard.

However, the mode of teaching in all Model Schools will be in English only and no fee will be collected.

The five Model Schools are at Vemulapudi in Narsipatnam mandal, Marupaka in Ravikamatam mandal, Manchala in Cheedikada mandal, Tegada in Kasimkota mandal and Patipalli in Munagapaka mandal in the district.

The DEO disclosed that the candidates of OC and BC castes born between September 1, 2005 and August 31, 2007 are eligible while that of SC and ST candidates between September 1, 2003 and August 31, 2007.

About the required qualifications, he said that the candidates should have studied continuously during 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years in government or government recognised schools.

He asked the deserved candidates to send applications from January 16 to February 4 through AP Online/Mee Seva Online centres and more details can be had from www. cse.ap.gov.in/apms.ap.gov.in.

The entrance test fee for OC and BC candidates is Rs 100 and for SC and ST candidates Rs 50. While OC and BC candidates should secure a minimum of 50 marks and that of SC and ST candidates 35 marks.

The admission process will be done purely on a merit basis and as per reservation rules, the DEO added.
