Khaidi No.150 frenzy

Visakhapatnam: A fan of actor Chiranjeevi slit his throat in frustration for not getting a ticket for the opening show of ‘Khaidi No. 150’ at Rama Talkies, here on Wednesday

The fan was drunk and even said to be mentally ill. He was running all around the theatre premises and started yelling randomly at people. With police being called, the fan fled from the spot.

The police said the man in his late twenties was not seriously injured. Meanwhile, fans of the actor in the north coastal districts alleged that the single screen theatres have hiked the price of the tickets by 100 per cent to cash in on fan frenzy.

Over 100 theatres in Vizag, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam are screening the movie amidst tight security.

A senior police officer said keeping in view of the release of Balakrishna’s 100th Gautamiputra Satakarni on Thursday, they planned to deploy police at theatres, where the two movies would be screened simultaneously.
