MP takes part in Sankranti fete

Visakhapatnam: MP K Hari Babu, who was present at the Sankranti Sambaralu celebrated under the aegis of BJP Mahila Morcha on the office premises here on Wednesday, underscored the need to protect essence of festivals.

The MP office wore a festive look with heaps of sugar cane, paddy, Haridas and ‘Gangireddu’. The Mahila Morcha members prepared traditional sweets and distributed to the participants.

Later, the MP gave away prizes to the winners of rangoli competition. Senior party leaders P V Chalapathi Rao, Kolli Ratna Kumari, MP’s wife Jayasri, City Mahila Morcha president Premkumari, members Varalakshmi, Durgabai, B Lalitha, Prasanthi and Sudha were present.
