28 red sanders logs seized; three smugglers arrested

Tirupati: Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) personnel seized a stock of 28 red sanders logs along with a tractor and a motor bike near Jeevakona forest area, in the outskirts of city, in the early hours on Thursday.
Tirupati: Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) personnel seized a stock of 28 red sanders logs along with a tractor and a motor bike near Jeevakona forest area, in the outskirts of city, in the early hours on Thursday.
They also arrested three smugglers transporting the logs. Briefing the details of the operation to media, RSASTF DSP SV Sridhar Rao said that a team acting on a tip-off raided Medikonda area of Jeevakona forest of Tirumala hills, leading to the nabbing of Chand Basha, Nagaraju and Avinash.
Three more unidentified persons involved in the smuggling managed to flee and police were on the lookout for the three escaped smugglers.
