Prior to six months of celebrations, the authorities are making elaborate arrangements to conduct the celebrations on a grand scale. Kurnool Medical College is one of the famous colleges apart from other medical colleges in both Telugu speaking States. When Andhra Pradesh was formed and the capital was shifted to Hyderabad from Kurnool the erstwhile secretariat buildings were handed over to medical college. The college was opened on July 21, 1957 by TT Krishnamachari, the then Union Finance Minister.
