Hyderabad: Nandamuri Balakrishna makes it a point to be amid his fans when a film of his opens and this time too for ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni,’ his 100th film, it was the same—except for the fact that he sat throughout the show, enjoying every bit of it as his fans continued to clap, hoot and whistle for his dialogues and action sequences at Bhramaramba theatre here on Thursday early morning. The excitement reached a crescendo as he tried to exit the hall post the show, with “Jai Balayya, Jai Jai Balayya” chants filling the arena.

‘Baahubali ‘helmer SS Rajamouli, whose tips have bolstered the filming of ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni,’ too watched the early morning show along with Balakrishna, though he was seated at another corner. The director, in a series of tweets later, showered praise on the actor and the film’s technicians.

“Saaho Basavatarakarama puthra BALAKRISHNA!!! I salute you sir for your portrayal of Satakarni that will make nandamuri tarakaramarao garu. proud. He will shower his blessings from above. Anjanaputhra Krish the blessings of 12 crore telugus across the globe will be with you (sic),” he posted.

The action later shifted to Prasad’s IMAX where a charity screening was held. While the PR machinery of the film sent out a message to journalists saying that TS CM K Chandrashekar would attend, it wasn’t the case as the TRS chief didn’t show up.

Speaking to media persons later, Balayya said the film has opened to unanimous positive response from all areas. “This success has increased my responsibilities," he noted, terming the film’s success as the victory of Telugu people.
