Kurnool: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court on Thursday sentenced a tainted officer to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000.

G Tirupati Kumar, who was working as a deputy Tahsildar at Roddham in Anantapur district was caught red handed by the ACB sleuths, while accepting bribe of Rs 30,000 from one Allah Basha of Kurlapalli village in Kanagana palli mandal.

Allah Basha approached the tainted officer to save his land that was allocated to him by the government from encroachment and Kumar demanded Rs 30,000.

Unable to pay, Allah Basha approached the ACB officials. They sleuths laid a trap and caught him red handed in the month of June, 2013.

Basing on the charge sheet, the ACB court judge Justice K Sudhakar in his judgement sentenced the tainted officer to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000 on Thursday.
