Kurnool: The Nandi Natakothsavams organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Film & Television and Theatre Development Corporation got off to an impressive start on Wednesday as the Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh officially declared open by lighting the lamp.

Kurnool: The Nandi Natakothsavams organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Film & Television and Theatre Development Corporation got off to an impressive start on Wednesday as the Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh officially declared open by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, TG Venkatesh said that Kurnool would soon emerge as the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh as the city has latest infrastructure to foster the art and culture.

He also said that Rayalaseema Cultural Academy would be playing a pivotal role in giving support to the artistes to hone their skills and be on the forefront to compete at the national level.

About 1,335 would take part and enact 76 plays during the theatre festival. This event will continue till February 2nd.

Kurnool MLA SV Mohan Reddy and TDP district secretary Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy called upon people to participate in the Nandi Natakotshavam and make it a grand success.

MLC Sudhakar Babu, former Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy, Lalitha Kala Samithi president Patti Obulaiah, TDP cultural cell State secretary Hanumanth Rao Choudhary and others participated.
