Ongole: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials raided the residence and office of Devisetty Durga Prasad, who was working as a DSP in Police Training College in Ongole, along with the houses and offices of his close friends and relatives, on Wednesday.

Ongole: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials raided the residence and office of Devisetty Durga Prasad, who was working as a DSP in Police Training College in Ongole, along with the houses and offices of his close friends and relatives, on Wednesday.

The ACB officials raided 15 places in Ongole, Chirala, Guntur and Hyderabad, including the house and office of Durga Prasad, his mother, friends and relatives Ramesh, Subba Rao and Kousalya.

The ACB officials found two plots in the name of Durga Prasad, one 670 square yards at Nallapadu in Guntur and 1,645 square yards at Vetapalem mandal in Prakasam district.

They also found an individual house in Guntur and seven open plots ranging from 250 to 2,400 square yards in Guntur, another plot of 200 square yards at Chirala and 1.47 acres of agriculture land at Budampadu in Guntur in the name of his mother-in-law E Usharani.

They also found four acres agriculature land and a shop in Guntur in the name of Savaram Ramesh, friend of Durga Prasad and two 1acre lands in the name of Sujatha, wife of Ramesh.

Two flats, four open plots of 212 to 408 square yards and one acre of land in Guntur in the name of Tummala Subba Rao, Durga Prasad’s another friend.

The officials also found that one Maruti Swift Desire, one Royal Enfield bike and one Honda Activa, along with 769 grams of gold, three kg of silver and four LIC policies belonging to Durga Prasad.

Ramadevi, DSP of ACB said, “The document value of the assets is more than Rs 2 crore. We found that they registered the assets for a minimum and nominal value on benami names.

The accused officer was arrested and produced before the court.” Durga Prasad joined the police department as a sub-inspector in 1991 and worked most of the time in Guntur district.

He was suspended on duty while he was working as a CI of Pattabhipuram in Guntur town in 2013. He was promoted as DSP in 2014 after his suspension was revoked.
