GITAM University Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao launched the programme in the presence of Union Bank of Switzerland Managing Director N T Arun Kumar, Andhra Pradesh Electronics IT Agency (APEITA) president Tirumala Rao Chamalla, Tech Mahindra Visakhapatnam head K Ravichandra, Broadridge IT head M Leela Krishna.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof M S Prasada Rao emphasised the importance of Fin-Tech in creating the ecosystem to support FinTech Valley.

He said that GITAM University is proud to have partnered with APEITA, UBS India, Broadridge, Cognizant and Tech Mahindra to rollout a curriculum that meets the needs of the industry.

He announced that the university is planning to start Blockchain certificate programme in addition to the FinTech certificate programme and plans are in place to start PG Diploma and MBA in Fin-Tech programme in coming years.

Union Bank of Switzerland (India) Managing Director N T Arun Kumar stressed the need of Fin-Tech ecosystem in academic institutions.

He observed that Fin-Tech is the next revolution where persuasive and disruptive technology is smartly applied into various financial verticals to make the industry much more secure, agile, provide greater customer experience through real-time analytics.

Broadridge IT head M Leela Krishna briefed their partnership with GITAM University to set up a Blockchain Centre of Excellence.

Andhra Pradesh Electronics IT Agency president Tirumala Rao Chamalla briefed about the various initiatives of the State government to strengthen the IT sector.

He congratulated the students who were selected for the programme and assured support from the government.
