Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy said that only thoughtless leaders supported cashless economy in India.

He pointed out that both Union and State governments failed to control the black money, corruption, fake currency and terrorism in the Jammu and Kashmir after the note ban by PM Modi.

APCC conducted a protest with hundreds of party workers against the ill-effects of demonetisation in front of the SBI zonal office here on Wednesday under the directions of AICC.

Addressing the gathering, Reddy said that demonetisation was a big scam and it helped only big business houses than common man.

“People had been postponing their medical treatments in the hospitals and farmers are unable to harvest and businessmen running short of buyers due to cash crunch,” he alleged.

He claimed that BJP and TDP leaders were busy in cockfights and bull races and were not resolving people’s woes, he added.

He demanded the Union government to pay 18 per cent of interest to the all saving bank account holders and AP government must provide the essential commodities with 50 per cent subsidy to the all BPL families in the fair shops.

“CM should announce the 20 per cent bonus to the farmers rabi products and Union and State government must deposit Rs 25,000 to the all section of women bank account holders in the country” he added.
