Fake `100 notes seized; one held

Nandyal (Kurnool): After demonetisation of big currency notes by the Central government, fake currency notes of Rs 100 denomination are being brought under circulation by unscrupulous elements. Unaware of fake and in need of small denominations, people are easily falling prey.

One such incident has come to the light at Nandyal on Thursday. On a tip off, the III town police have apprehended Dudekula Raja on the charges of exchanging fake Rs 100 notes at an exhibition.

The organisers of the exhibition became suspicious and immediately brought to the notice of the police. Circle Inspector Ismail said that the police took Raja in to custody and seized fake 800 notes of Rs 100 denomination. The police filed a case and began probe.
