Kadapa: Members of Insurance Corporation Employees’ Union division on Thursday staged a protest in front of the LIC office here opposing the Union Cabinet’s decision to list the four small insurance companies on the stock market. Speaking on the occasion, divisional chief secretary A Raghunatha Reddy questioned the Central government whether there is any other organisation as efficient as LIC.
He asked why the government is intending to privatise the government insurance companies instead of nationalising the private insurance companies that are running under losses.
He said future course of action will be decided at All India Insurance Employee’s Association (AIIEA) national conference that is going to be held from January 21 to 25 at Ernakulam in Kerala.
Division leaders K P Madhuleti, Y Srinivasulu, V Ajay Kumar, Y Sravani and many other working committee members participated.
