Paderu (Visakhapatnam): Project Officer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Ravi Pattan Shetti asked the officials of Rural Water Supply (RWS) department to take up an integrated survey of tribal hamlets which did not have water supply schemes.
At a review meeting conducted here on Thursday, Pattan Shetti asked the Velugu and RWS employees to work in coordination during the survey of 1,873 villages in the Agency area to implement water supply schemes where there was no water supply scheme at all. The officials were also directed to find out the feasibility in which villages solar power could be used to run the water supply schemes.
Keeping the ensuing summer in view, the Project Officer instructed the officials to complete all water schemes immediately and the divisional engineers to inspect the work-in-progress from time to time. He also made it a point that Quality Control officials will check and inspect the quality of all water supply schemes taken up with the special development funds.
“Send proposals to get additional funds to obtain power connection to run the water supply scheme at Olda village in Hukumpet mandal. Complete the construction work of the water scheme at Pedalabudu village, the adopted village of the Chief Minister at the earliest,” he said.
Later, reviewing the implementation of ‘Chandranna Bheema’, distribution of social security pensions and construction of individual toilets, he emphasised the need for transparency.
The Velugu staff were asked to take necessary steps for providing sheep and goats to beneficiaries and cautioned that action will be initiated if irregularities occur in the distribution of sheep and goats. Executive engineer of RWS Ramprasad, assistant project pfficer of Velugu Subba Rao, divisional engineers and APMs were present.
