Ongole: Ongole MP Y V Subba Reddy alleged that it is due to the negligence of the State government, hundreds of patients suffering from chronic kidney disease in Prakasam district.

He announced that YSCRP president Jaganmohan Reddy will visit the district on Friday to question the negligence and insensitivity of the government about the problems of kidney patients and its inability to set up a dialysis unit at Kanigiri or surrounding areas.

Subba Reddy said, “According to the information by the district medical and health officer, 2,156 people are suffering from kidney ailments in the district and out of them, 424 patients have already died in the last two years. It is due to the negligence of the government, patients are forced to travel to more than 100 kilometres for dialysis. As the government didn’t respond, I have released Rs 12 lakh from the MP funds for setting up the dialysis unit, assuming that there is a financial crisis.”

He said that Jaganmohan Reddy will protest in support of kideny patients in Pedacherlo Palli on Friday.
