DPE conducts surprise raids

Visakhapatnam: The Detection of Pilferage of Energy (DPE) wing of APEPDCL conducted surprise raids and intensive inspections on the services of commercial and industrial establishments in Palakoderu, Narasapuram rural, Yellamanchili, Bhimavaram rural, Veeravasaram, Akivedu, Kalla, Undi, Palakole and Narasapuram sub-divisions on Friday under the limits of Eluru Operation Circle.
Chief General Manager (Operations) of EPDCL P V V Sathyanarayana disclosed that the DPE wing has inspected 396 services at the above areas and booked 136 cases besides imposing a fine of Rs 22.32 lakh on defaulters. He said the surprise raids were conducted following the directions of company CMD M M Nayak.
The DPE squads of all divisions of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmahendravaram and Eluru of EPDCL and the vigilance staff led by Chief Vigilance Officer D N Kishore and SE (DPE) R S V Krishna Mohan Rao conducted the raids.
