Kanigiri: The Kanigiri MLA, Kadiri Babu Rao, blamed the YSRCP president, Jaganmohan Reddy, for making remarks against the State government without knowing the facts. He said that earlier government has not responded to the plight of kidney patients in Kanigiri Assembly constituency.

He said that the then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had neglected the requests to provide safe drinking water to the villages with high levels of fluoride and didn’t allotted a single RO plant or dialysis unit to the constituency. He said that it is the Chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu who was more concerned about the patients and made arrangements for safe drinking water for 172 villages in first phase and 122 villages in second phase.

He said that the TDP government has allotted 45 RO plants in the total 56 plants sanctioned to Praksam district. He praised the initiatives like NTR Sujala Sravanthi and mobile health services for the benefit of kidney patients in Kanigiri.

Babu Rao alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy and his associates took lands of farmers forcefully in the name of VANPIC in Prakasam district. He said that they has got Rs 850 crore from banks by keeping the land as guarantee and asked to spare about half of the money for the kidney patients to set up about 15 dialysis units in the district.
