Rajamahendravaram: BJP MLC Somu Veerraju expressed his anguish that State government has failed to take steps in curbing corruption. “Demonetisation will give effective results and people will benefit, only if the State governments take proper steps,” he stated.

Addressing a media conference here on Saturday, he said that government was incurring a loss of Rs.900 crore per month through unauthorised liquor sale. “The government is getting revenue of only Rs 15 thousand crore from the sale of liquor.

It is distributing 60 gram egg to children at Rs.4.70 per egg under integrated child development scheme (ICDS) whereas the same egg is selling in the market at Rs.3.50 paisa,” he pointed out. He alleged that prices are sky rocketing due to lack of government control.

“Red Gram which is pest infested is being supplied through 55,000 ICDS centres in the State at Rs.120 per kg but only Rs.71 is given to farmer,” he charged.

The BJP leader appealed to Chaganti Koteswara Rao to continue his spiritual discourses despite the recent controversy.

“The community which was hurt by Chaganti’s comments should consider the apology tendered by him and should not prolong the issue,” he averred.

He recalled that political writer Kancha Ilaiah called Lord Sri Krishna as male prostitute, who was having 16 thousand wives.
