Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the derailment of the Hirakhand Express in Andhra Pradesh and condoled the death of 27 people who were killed during the train derailment in Vizianagaram district.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs to the next kin of the deceased, Rs.25000 for normal injured people and Rs.50000 people who severely injured by the accident.
As of now, 28 people have died and 200 people have been injured who are getting treated in hospitals.
