Kakinada: The differences in BJP in East Godavari district is growing by the day. In fact, brawls resurfaced during the recent visit of party AP, incharge Siddardhanadh Singh. The party was virtually split at the office bearers meeting during meet- one group led by party district unit chief Yenimireddy Malakondayya and Pydah Krishna Mohan group on the other side.

The differences between the two groups have not subsided even after one year of district body elections.

While Malakondayya who was elected received support from senior ladders like Duvvuri Subrahmanyam, Pydah Bhavana Prasad and Thota Sarvarayudu, his opponent Yalla Dorababu who lost narrowly but got support from Pydah Krishna Mohan, Visakha in-charge and known aide of Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and State party chief K Haribabu.

The Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] which was once known as disciplined party is losing its image after the party opened flood gates for all members two decades ago.

Commenting on the issue party senior leaders Duvvuri Subramanian who has been associated with the party for more than two decades said that in a democratic party, differences among members is inevitable.

Similarly, party district unit chief Y Malakondayya admits on Sunday that there are differences among groups in the party but in the best interests of the party, they are trying to broker peace among groups to strengthen the party not only in East Godavari but also at State level to face next elections in 2019.
