CM keen to supply water for Bukkapatnam tank: Palle

Kothacheruvu (Anantapur): Minister for IT Palle Raghunatha Reddy described Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a friend of farmers. Participating in Praja Vani Vedika here on Sunday, Palle said that the Chief Minister was determined to supply water to fill Bukkapatnam irrigation tank. “The Hundri Neeva project will not only fill all tanks in the district but also will transform the barren lands into fertile lands,” he averred.

The Minister informed that Rs 434 crore was given to the State under climate-based crop insurance, out of which Rs368 crore was been given to Anantapur district. “Also input subsidy of Rs 1,800 crores has been given to the State at the rate of Rs1,500 per hectare,” he added Member of Parliament JC Diwakar Reddy, who participated in the meeting, unveiled the statue of NTR at Nallamada. Speaking on the occassion, he described NTR as a great visionary, who introduced welfare schemes for the poor on an unprecedented scale. “Development and welfare were like his two eyes,” he recalled.
