With the Opposition reacting strongly against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) conference even though he was not a special invitee, the news has gone viral on social media.

Setting the record straight, the office of the State government’s Communications Adviser has issued a press release saying, “The news in circulation in some quarters that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was not a special invitee to the World Economic Forum at Davos and that his name did not figure in the list of speakers is patently false and amounts to false propaganda."

A letter by WEF managing board member Philipp Rosler inviting Chandrababu for the conference was also released.

“I am pleased to invite you to the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017, which will take place in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from 17 to 20 January.”
