Kuneru/Parvathipuram(Vizianagaram): Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy visited Kuneru of Komarada mandal in Vizianagaram district, where the Hirakhand Express derailed recently, where 40 passengers lost their lives. On Monday, he visited the accident spot and enquired about the rescue operations.

Later, addressing the media, Jagan expressed his grief over the shocking incident. “This is very pathetic incident as nearly 40 people lost their lives while travelling in train. This is the third incident in recent times.

Now people are reluctant to travel by train as they lost trust in railways. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should personally supervise rescue operations.

If it’s a technical lapse, it should be taken seriously. And also government should hike the compensation for the deceased families to Rs 20 lakh each. Naidu never visits the accident spots and didn’t even visit crackers blast spot in Nellore.

Even the victims at Parvathipuram hospital also should be supported till they are fit to work. Botsa Satyanarayana, MLA of Kurupam P Pushpa Srivani also accompanied him. Later, he went to Parvathipuram and consoled the family members of M Balaram, a small-time vendor, who was killed in the accident.
