Youth urged to exercise franchise
The Prakasam district administration organised a 3K run as part of celebrations of National Voters Day on January 25.
Ongole: The Prakasam district administration organised a 3K run as part of celebrations of National Voters Day on January 25.
Joint Collector Dr M Hari Jawaharlal asked the youth to take part in the democratic process of electing a righteous representative during polls.
Speaking before flagging off the 3K run from Prakasam District Collectorate, the Joint Collector said that the National Voters Day is being organised to create awareness on the right to vote among the public.
He said that it is the responsibility of each voter to elect a righteous and trustworthy candidate who followed ethics as their representative.
He asked the public to participate in the National Voters Day celebrations on January 25, where the administration issues identity cards to the newly registered voters.
He also said that the senior voters in the district will be felicitated in the celebrations as a gesture of respect.
