Vijayawada: The State government has made documentaries on welfare schemes to reach to the tribals and help them avail the benefits offered by the government, according to Minister for Social and Tribal Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu.

The government had already prepared documentaries on ‘NTR Vidyonnati’ and ‘Ambedkar Overseas Vidyanidhi’.

Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the government had successfully campaigned for the awareness among Dalits and Tribals on various welfare schemes.

Widespread campaign was conducted in 13 districts about ‘Chandranna Sankshemam’, ‘Chandranna Runamela’ and ‘Prabhutwa Dalitabata’ schemes, he said.

Ten documentaries were made with prominent actors, the Minister said. He released the documentary on NTR Vidyonnati.

ZP Chairperson G Anuradha released the documentary on Ambedkar Overseas Vidyanidhi. MLA Kagita Venkatrao released the documentary on post-Matriculation scholarships.

AP Gruhanirmana Samstha Chairman V Ramaiah launched the documentary made on SC/ST Atrocities Act. Chairperson of Woman Commission Nannapaneni Rajakumari released the documentary on inter-caste marriages.

Doordarsan news director Bhagavan Das launched the documentary on skill development training scheme for Dalits and Tribals.

The documentary on untouchability was released by MLA Gadde Rammohan. Similarly, MLC Ramakrishna released the documentary which focused on turning SC/STs into industrialists.
