Visakhapatnam: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, HPCL-Visakh Refinery donated 12,040 Class X model question paper books, total worth Rs 12.65 lakh to benefit the SSC students under the limits of ITDAs of Paderu, Parvathipuram and Setampeta and also GVMC limits.

Visakhapatnam: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, HPCL-Visakh Refinery donated 12,040 Class X model question paper books, total worth Rs 12.65 lakh to benefit the SSC students under the limits of ITDAs of Paderu, Parvathipuram and Setampeta and also GVMC limits.

It may be recalled that the refinery management has been donating SSC model question paper books prepared by experienced academicians free of cost for the past many years.

Collector Praveen Kumar and executive director of Visakh Refinery G S V S S S Prasad Sarma released the model books at a brief function here on Tuesday.

Thanking for the gesture shown by Visakh Refinery to benefit the student community, particularly that of remote agency and rural areas, the Collector said that other PSUs, too, should help students as part of CSR initiative.

He hoped that the students studying in the limits of ITDAs of north coastal Andhra and the GVMC limits would be benefited with the question banks.

Refinery Executive Director Prasad Sarma said that the refinery has been sponsoring model paper books through an NGO ‘Help@11th’ for the past several years and assured that the HPCL will always be in the forefront of supporting the education sector especially in rural, remote and interior areas.

He also said that they received good feedback that majority of the students, including average students, too, were qualified in the public exams after going through these books.

In-charge Deputy General Manager (HR) Narisetti Raja Rao and Senior Manager (PR) U S Sarma, Executives from ‘help@11th’ Mangatayaru, Tejeswani and Vidya were also present.
