Addressing the inaugural event of two-day MSME Expo being organized jointly by MSME’s AP Chapter and Cocanada Camber of Commerce at Padmanabha Function hall here on Tuesday, the Collector said that 15 t0 50 acres of land are being procured in 19 constituencies for this activity. The growth of MSME will help in accelerating GDP growth, noted the District Collector.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector listed out various sops being offered to the small scale industries by the AP government.

Various incentives in the form of capital incentive, sales tax, and power tariff concessions are being given to the small scale industry, said Arun Kumar. He called up on the corporates to make purchases from MSME.

The existing norms fixed by the government indicate the same, the Collector said. The two-day buyer-seller meet-cum-industrial exhibition is expected to give a big boost to the MSME sector following the participation of representatives of several public sector undertakings and large industries in the two-day event.

AP’s SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao who attended as a special guest said that out of 20 percent mandatory purchases by large industry, 20 of this percentage which comes to four will have to be made from units owned by Dalits( Industrial units).

Further, he detailed out allocations made to different sectors by SC Corporation out of its 12,, 000 crore budget annually for encouraging SC entrepreneurs in the form of capital infusion and investment.

Executive Director of ONGC ‘s offshore operations, Alok Nandan assured to extend all possible assistance to MSME saying that the ONGC will be investing Rs. 30,000 crore in offshore operations in the K G basin shortly.

AP Chamber of Commerce President Sambasiva Rao, Cocanada Chamber of Commerce president Dantu Surya Rao and others also spoke on the event.
