Kurnool: The two-day BJP State council meeting concluded here on Wednesday with the party passing two resolutions one on Rayalaseema development and the other one on Polavaram Project.

Briefing the media, BJP State general secretary S Suresh Reddy said that several issues were discussed at the meet with the prominent one being Rayalaseema development.

He said that the party’s State unit has unanimously thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning Rs 1,981 crore for Polavaram Project.

It also passed another resolution seeking the intervention of Prime Minister and the Central leadership in helping complete pending projects in Rayalaseema region.

Reddy further said that the Kurnool meet has identified a number of projects in the Rayalaseema region which could be fast-tracked for quick completion on sanction of required financial resources.

With regard to Potireddypadu head regulator, he said that the BJP was committed to getting 44,000 cusecs of water against the existing 11,000 cusecs of water.

He called upon the State government to work towards completing the Gundrevula reservoir by utilising the rightful share in Tungabhadra waters which could solve the drinking water problem of Kurnool city.

BJP State vice-president K Kapileshwaraiah said that the party is striving to secure sanction of a steel plant for Kadapa district.
