Narsapur: Narsapur MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu requested the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Justice Grandhi Bhavani Prasad to change the installed HT metering system that adds additional financial burden to the small
and marginal aqua farmers in
the town.

The MLA met Justice Bhavai Prasad at Hyderabad on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum to him on the plight of small and marginal aqua farmers in Narsapur area.

In his representation, Bandaru Madhava Naidu stated that small and marginal aqua farmers were being issued with higher power bills running in lakhs ever since the HT metering system on 10HP load has come in place.

This has become a big burden to the farmers, the MLA pointed out. Further, the HT metering system is causing severe losses to the farmers, he highlighted.

The MLA requested Justice to exempt the already sanctioned 10HP load from HT Metering system.

Also, he sought directions from Justice to the power corporation to implement the HT metering system to 40 HP load and above.

Justice Bhavani Prasad assured him that the raised issues would be looked into positively, said the MLA.
