Kalikiri: The 68th Republic Day was celebrated on a grand note on the campus of Sainik School here on Thursday. Chief guest Avinash Pawar, Commandant of the 53 Battalion, ITBP, was cordially received by the Principal Wg Cdr VS Dangwal accompanied by the first lady of the campus Swetha Dangwal.

The chief guest received the general salute from the cadets of Sainik School. He unfurled the national flag on the occasion. The smartly turned out cadets of all four houses presented an impressive march past with precise movements and perfect synchronisation.

Their swift movements and coordination earned big applause from one and all. Cadets also danced for the patriotic songs making the occasion more flamboyant. Congratulating the cadets for their captivating performance, Avinash Pawar lauded the stellar role played by Sainik Schools that provide strength to youth to shoulder the responsibilities of building a strong nation.

He quoted that honesty must become everyone’s destiny to serve the nation. He added that the nation is known by the character of its people.

He urged the cadets to aim at rendering noble services to the nation. He concluded wishing all bright future ahead and exuding confidence that the school would stride forward in its quest to nurture future leaders. Guest of honour Sweta Dangwal distributed sweets to the cadets. The event was attended by a large number of spectators comprising family members of staff and parents.
