Anantapur: Congress party workers supported by hundreds of college students participated in a rally and silent demonstration dubbed as 'Mouna Pradarshana' demanding Special Category Status to AP.

The participants led by Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy went in a rally from Saptagiri circle to Tower clock junction displaying placards with slogans ‘Pratyeka Hodha Andhrula Hakku' and shouting anti-Modi and anti-CM slogans who stood for SCS demand and backtracked after elections.

The participants tying their mouths with black cloth as a protest for stifling the voices for special status. Although, police tried to prevent the rally but later allowed it as it was merely a silent demonstration.

However, response from the people was good particularly the youth who believed that SCS is the panacea for all ills ailing the State and felt that RK beach agitation will intensify and bring the Narendra Modi government to its knees.
