Vizag development report released
Visakhapatnam Development Report-2017 was released here on Thursday at GITAM University by Andhra Pradesh Special Chief
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Development Report-2017 was released here on Thursday at GITAM University by Andhra Pradesh Special Chief Secretary and IT Advisor J A Chowdary here on Thursday. The report was prepared by GITAM University researchers based on several surveys and scientific studies. He interacted with the faculty and researchers and appreciated their efforts while preparing the report.
While briefing about the report GITAM University Vice-Chancellor Prof M S Prasada Rao disclosed that the university has taken initiative to prepare the report as part of social responsibility. He said that the report consisting of smart city challenges, opportunities, city governance, comparative perspectives, traffic issues, environmental issues, health and education demands, industrial development, tourism sector, transportation issues.
He said that the university is suggesting for setting up of Visakhapatnam District Development and Industrial Promotion Board (VDDIPB) for planning and implementation of development strategies in the city and district of Visakhapatnam.
GITAM University Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna, Registrar Prof M Potharaju, Andhra Pradesh Electronics & IT Agency president Tirumala Rao Chamalla and others participated in the programme.
