Visakhapatnam: The importance of Vizag city has been increased significantly after the bifurcation of the State as it was turned to be the ideal platform for the conduct of State and Central government programmes like IFR, CII Partnership Summit, BRICS Countries’ Meet and National Road Safety Meet held last year were the best examples, claimed Collector Praveen Kumar in his Republic Day speech here on Thursday.
After hoisting the National Flag and inspecting the guard of honour, Praveen Kumar said to develop agriculture sector, too, on par with other sectors, efforts are on to bring Godavari waters to the district and as a part of it, the government has taken up Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Project with an estimated cost of Rs 1,680 crore.
