Police chief appoints 50 Mahila Rakshak teams
Vijayawada: Deputy Commissioner of Police Pala Raju said that Mahila Rakshak team took 14 eve teasers into their custody and counselled them in the presence of their parents here on Friday.
Vijayawada: Deputy Commissioner of Police Pala Raju said that Mahila Rakshak team took 14 eve teasers into their custody and counselled them in the presence of their parents here on Friday.
Addressing the mediapersons at his chambers, he said that Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang appointed 50 Mahila Rakshak teams in the city to prevent eve teasers and identified 64 hot spots, including parks, railway station, bus station, malls, theaters, auto stands and other important places in the city.
He said that the Mahila Rakshak team would capture the eve teasers teasing through video camera.
Later, the Mahila Rakshak police will take them into their custody. Police department has appointed Mahila Mithras in every police station for resolving all kind of women issues in the city.
He said that all bus drivers and conductors should bring the eve teasers to police stations when they found them teasing girls and women in the buses.
