Maoist courier surrenders
Usman Ali alias Raja of Korukonda hamlet of Chintapalli mandal in Visakha Agency, who was working as Maoist courier, surrendered before Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma here on Saturday.
Visakhapatnam: Usman Ali alias Raja of Korukonda hamlet of Chintapalli mandal in Visakha Agency, who was working as Maoist courier, surrendered before Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma here on Saturday.
According to rural police, Usman Ali has been eking out livelihood by running a grocery shop in Korukonda hamlet for the past three decades. He was not only supplying ration to Maoists, but also attending to their works from time to time.
Police disclosed that he used to participate in the activities of Korukonda Area Committee Maoists- Krishna and Naveen. A strict vigil has been kept on Usman Ali by the rural police and they convinced him to surrender through village elders. At last, he has decided to surrender before police due to ill health, police added.
