No arrangements for Suddha Panchami celebrations
No efforts are being made by the Endowments department for Magha Suddha Panchami celebrations on February 1, to be held at Goddess
Atmakur (Kurnool): No efforts are being made by the Endowments department for Magha Suddha Panchami celebrations on February 1, to be held at Goddess Swaraswati temple in Atmakur. Magha Suddha Panchami is celebrated as the jayanthi of Goddess Saraswati. Every year, the District Collector conducts meeting with the officials concerned for the celebrations which didn’t take place this year so far.
However, the temple trust chairman Chandrasekhar Yadav is making his own efforts. Devotees from the neighbouring States also come here on the auspicious day for initiating alphabet to their children.
The devotees claim that the Endowments department is taking hundi collections but not contributing for the required facilities such as drinking water, sanitation, shelters and queue complex. The road that leads to the temple is also not good.
