RTC bus knocks down engg student

Kadapa: Yugandhar, a student of final year engineering at Annamacharya Engineering College, was fatally knocked down by a RTC bus in Rajampeta on Saturday.

The mishap occurred when Yugandhar was returning to the college after his lunch. The enraged students attacked the bus and smashed the window panes.

They also staged a protest on the road blocking it and disrupting the traffic on the busy Tirupati-Kadapa highway for more than two hours.

Rajampet RDO Veerbrahamaiah and DSP Rajender rushed to the spot after tension mounted with the students continuing their protest. The students first refused to withdraw the protest but later relented after RDO and DSP after much persuasion convinced them to disperse. A case has been registered.
