Tirupati: The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) resorting to unscrupulous methods including luring voters with cash for the victory of its candidates in MLC elections, BV Raghavulu CPM Politburo member alleged while addressing a meeting here on Saturday.

The TDP fielded candidates from the corporate section to win the election with money power as it is frantically trying to have its say in the upper house also, he said lamenting that the ruling party is not sparing even the graduates and teachers considered to be intellectuals from its wooing tactics for the victory of its candidates in the MLC elections. He urged the middle class employees’ associations to work for the victory of genuine person to uphold democratic spirit, values in public life, decorum and also take up the issues of teachers, young graduates and also other sections of the people in the Legislature Council.

MLCs Y Srinivasulu Reddy and Balasubramanyam, who are contesting again in the MLC elections for graduate and teachers constituency respectively, alleged that the ruling TDP indulging in all sort of gimmicks to see its candidates win and exuded that the prudent and wise voters will not fall prey to such tactics. CITU district secretary K Murali, UTF, AITUC, DYFI and SFI leaders were present.
