Visakhapatnam: BJP MLA P Vishnukumar Raju while appreciating the land pooling system implemented in Amaravati through which the State
government had acquired 33,000 acres land, smells a rat in the land pooling being implemented by the government in Visakhapatnam district
and alleged that the land was taken over by real estate brokers.

The MLA told reporters here on Sunday that injustice was done to the poor farmers as the middlemen and brokers began taking away the lands
by giving Rs 1 lakh as advance and by taking signatures on blank papers.

He alleged that the officials failed to give publicity of the land pooling. Hence, the farmers are not aware of the fact that the government is
acquiring their lands.

Citing the examples where the government took over 60 acres of assigned land in Soubhagyapuram of Pendurti mandal, 48 acres in Kommadi,
14 acres in Nerellavalasa and 50 acres in Gandigundam villages, he flayed that the poor farmers incurred heavy losses with the pooling. “The
BJP will not keep mum to the injustice being meted out to the poor farmers. I will bring this issue to the notice of the Minister concerned and
also demand a CBCID inquiry into the whole episode”, he said.
