Amalapuram: Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa said that the government is organising sports in villages with an intention to
encourage sports and games at village-level. Recognising that the Kabaddi has a significant importance in villages, the government conducted
competitions with the collaboration of ONGC, he said.

Konaseema-level Kabaddi competitions were inaugurated at ZP school in Bandarlanka by Chinarajappa here on Sunday.

Later, MLA Ayithabattula Anand Rao said that they would allocate more funds in upcoming budget for sports. “The people’s representatives of
Konaseema are cooperating with ONGC in all possible ways. So, ONGC might consider adopting the villages and taking over the responsibility
of conducting sports competitions in every constituency. Though the government is facing various problems by the activities of oil companies,
we never obstructed their activities. Now we need their support for the development of the region,” he added.

ONGC Assistant Manager at Rajamundry, Sanyal, MLAs Gollapalli Surya Rao,Datla Bucchibabu, Pulaparthi Narayana Murthy, MLC Reddy
Subramanyam, and Amalapuram RTO Ganesh Kumar participated in the programme.
