MP launches additional passenger amenities

Visakhapatnam: TDP MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu launched additional passenger amenities like lift at the main concourse area for the benefit of senior citizens and patients at Srikakulam Road railway station on Sunday.

An Automated Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) at Mettakivalasa side of Srikakulam Road railway station was also inaugurated. The MP said that there is lot of transformation in the railways towards modernisation and improving passenger amenities. More amenities are being provided at Srikakulam Road railway station like coach indication boards on all platforms, more ATVMs, foot-over-bridge with ramps towards Dusi area and concourse area development in three to four months. He said that Waltair division is taking the initiative of sending proposals to the IRCTC for the stoppages of some more important trains here. He urged the Central and State governments and the local municipality to jointly provide amenities like road-over-bridge and the station area development.

Government Whip K Ravi Kumar, Chairperson of Amudalavalasa Municipality T Geetha, Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee, Senior Divisional Engineer (East) K V V Narasimha Rao, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer V H M Patro and Divisional Commercial Manager (coordination) G Suneel Kumar were also present.
