District Collector Siddarth Jain expressed anger over officials working at the Chittoor Government Hospital for not ensuring quality services

Chittoor: District Collector Siddarth Jain expressed anger over officials working at the Chittoor Government Hospital for not ensuring quality services to the patients. He slammed the officials for not changing their style of working despite reprimanding them in the last three meetings of Hospital Advisory Committee (HAC). The Collector participated in the HAC meeting held here on Sunday. He found fault with hospital authorities for not fixing defunct water taps, fans, tubelights and not taking up repair works.

“There is no purpose of conducting HAC meeting if the hospital officials failed to complete pending works which were discussed in the past HAC meetings,” he said. Jain warned of taking serious action against officials concerned if they are negligent in discharging duties. He stated that the Chittoor Government Hospital was attached to Apollo Hospitals to provide better medical services to the patients.

The Collector has instructed the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), District Coordinator for Hospital Services (DCHS) and hospital superintendent to take measures for improving medical services and developing infrastructure in the hospital.

He asked them to perform more surgeries and give importance to patients, who were being admitted under NTR Vaidya Seva scheme. DCHS Dr Saralamma has made futile effort to convince the Collector over the developmental works taken at the government hospital.

Later, Jain inspected the various wards in the hospital and interacted with patients. They brought to the notice of the Collector about the negligent attitude of the nursing staff in certain wards. He informed officials concerned of holding a meeting in the Chittoor Government Hospital after five days and review the improvements made in the hospital. DMHO Dr Vijaya Gouri, hospital superintendent Dr Pandu Rangaiah and other medical officials were present.
