Visakhapatnam: Two persons died on the spot when their motorcycle after jumping over road divider was knocked down by a lorry coming in opposite direction on NH-16 stretch near Koppaka area under Anakapalle town police station limits in the district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as K Ramanagesh (35) and B Nagaraju (30), both residents of Anakapalli. They were petty traders and owned meat shops at Gajuwaka.

The duo on a bike were going to Anakapalli from Gajuwaka and the rider of the bike Ramanagesh lost control over it and hit a road-divider and crossed over to the other side of the NH-16 where the vehicle was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction. Traffic Inspector of Anakapalli G Srinivas said that over-speeding might have been the cause for the accident. Police registered a case and shifted the bodies to NTR Hospital for post- mortem.
