A five-year-old girl, Navya Sri was rescued by the police on Monday after being abducted from Pilgrim Amenities Complex in Tirumala. According to the police, the girl was kidnapped by an unidentified person two days ago in Tirumala while her parents, Mahatma and Varalakshmi were asleep.

The family hailing from Kanaganapalli mandal of Anantapur district, was on a pilgrimage in Tirumala. The girl's parents lodged a complaint following which the authorities verified the CCTV footage of the facility and witnessed an unidentified person carrying the child.

The accused, Balaswamy took Navyasri to Mahabubnagar in a train and then later by bus to Kalwakurthy. However, when the girl began crying, passengers grew suspicious and enquired the girl about her parents. The girl informed that she belongs to Anantapur district and the passengers nabbed the kidnapped the accused and handed him over to the police.
