Amaravati: The alignment for State government’s prestigious Amaravati-Anantapur Expressway road project will be finalised next week. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to finalise the plan for this important road in a week.

Similarly, the State government has also taken another important decision by fixing the deadline to inaugurate Sri Kanaka Durga flyover on August 15 by completing the construction works.

Reviewing the road projects with officials including National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) here on Monday, the CM asked them to complete the road projects as per the deadline.

The government made plans to lay the expressway from Anantapur to Amaravati he said and termed that it is the first greenfield road project in the country.

Railway track also would be formed parallel to expressway road. The officials were ordered to begin the process for getting required permissions from Centre and complete the land acquisition for this project immediately.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to start special departments for initiating the land acquisition process in the five districts. Industrial corridors and towns would come up beside the highway he said and asked the officials to study the transit development plans.

He also directed the officials to complete the road project in next two years. He sought the officials to prepare designs for Benz Circle flyover in Vijayawada city by taking precautions not to damage the layout of the junction.

Similarly the beautification works should be taken up on the road stretch from Kummaripalem centre to Prakasam barrage. The CM asked the officials to take services of expert architects for this work. The NHAI officials were asked to speed up the Machilipatnam-Vijayawada road works. Minister Sidda Raghava Rao and several officials were also present in the meeting.
