Ravela seeks more funds for SC/ST sub-plan
Urging an increase in allocations for SC and ST Sub Plan by Rs 387 crores for the coming financial year, Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu said that his department had submitted proposals to this effect to Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu.
Amaravati: Urging an increase in allocations for SC and ST Sub Plan by Rs 387 crores for the coming financial year, Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu said that his department had submitted proposals to this effect to Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu.
Speaking to media persons in his chamber at the Temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi on Monday, Kishore Babu said that for the financial year 2017-18 his department had submitted proposals for Rs 2744 crores.
He said that during 2016-18 financial year, the government allocated Rs 2,308 crore to Social Welfare department in which Rs 1,412 crore were spent by January this year.
Despite the State facing a revenue deficit, the government was not compromising on the welfare of SC and STs, he said and claimed that AP was the only State which was implementing SC, ST sub plan perfectly.
