Visakhapatnam: Collector Praveen Kuma,r disclosed that Digi Dhan Mela will be conducted at Viswapriya Function Hall on the beach road on February 3 involving bankers, digital service providers and government officials to encourage and promote cashless transactions among consumers and businessmen.

Discussing on various arrangements to be made for the meet, the Collector said that Lucky Grahak Yojana to educate consumers and Digi Dhan Vyapara Yojana to educate businessmen are in force following the orders of the Central government up to April 14.
As a part of implementation of these two programmes, daily draws are being conducted in 100 cities like Visakhapatnam and cash prizes are being presented.
He said that Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will attend the mega event as the chief guest and the event will be held from 9 am to 9 pm and the winners of that particular day will be presented with prizes at the valedictory.
He further stated that 75 stalls will be set up at the venue to facilitate bankers, digital service providers and government departments to highlight how they were encouraging cashless transactions among people.
In addition to this, Aadhar registration counter, Common Service Centre and Mee-Seva Centres will also be opened and he asked the bankers to open accounts on the spot to those who have no accounts.
He asked the departments like Civil Supplies, Forest and Khadi to set up stalls and educate on cashless transactions.
Joint Collector G Srujana asked Andhra University Registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao to send 500 students to the organisers a day before the meet so as to make them as trainers.
She asked the bankers and the officials to put up detailed information at their respective stalls. Assistant Collector Saikanth Varma, Lead Bank Manager D Sarat Babu, Assistant Manager of Lead Bank J N N Murty, DRO C Chandrasekhara Reddy, Andhra Bank Zonal Manager B Vijay Lakshmi, AP Grameen Vikas Bank Regional Manager B J Reddy, Municipal Additional Commissioner Murty and UCD Project Director Srinivasan and others were present.
