Hyderabad: The Osmania General Hospital (OGH) said it had found no substance in a news report that appeared on a Telugu news channel on the death of five patients due to inoperative flow metres.

Flow metres are used as supportive equipment to oxygen cylinders. They show the exact amount of oxygen that needs to be supplied to patients.

OGH superintendent Dr G V S Murthy said, “In all 14 people died on Tuesday and they were natural deaths. The cost of flow metres is just Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 and all the equipment is in working condition.

Also, there was enough stock of oxygen cylinders.”
Dr G V S Murthy said that no officials of the hospital were contacted and
